Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Northern Venture Trust PLC is pleased to announce that at a board meeting held
on 20 September 2005, Mr Clive Williams was appointed to the board as a
non-executive director with immediate effect.

Mr Williams is aged 61 and was a managing partner in Ernst & Young in the UK and
then chief executive of Capgemini UK plc until his retirement in February 2005.
He is currently non-executive chairman of THB Group PLC.

There are no further disclosures to be made under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) – (6) of
the Listing Rules in relation to his appointment.
