Director Shareholding

Further to the Issue of Equity announcement released on Friday 6 January 2006,
of the 2,916,802 C Shares allotted under the 2005/06 Offer for Subscription on
Friday 6 January 2006, 5,075 C Shares were allotted to Professor Sir Frederick
Holliday, a director of the Company at a price of 100p per share.

As a result of this allotment, Professor Sir Frederick Holliday currently has a
beneficial interest in 5,075 C Shares of 75p each in the Company representing
0.17% per cent of the current issued C Share capital. Professor Sir Frederick
Holliday’s holding of 16,734 Ordinary Shares of 25p each remains unchanged at
16,734 shares representing 0.04% of the current issued Ordinary Share capital.

In addition, of the 2,916,802 C Shares allotted under the 2005/06 Offer for
Subscription on Friday 6 January 2006, 10,300 C Shares were allotted to Mr John
Hustler, a director of the Company at a price of 100p per share. As a result of
this allotment, Mr Hustler currently has a beneficial interest in 10,300 C
Shares of 75p each in the Company representing 0.35% per cent of the current
issued C Share capital. Mr Hustler’s holding of 73,737 Ordinary Shares of 25p
each remains unchanged at 73,737 shares representing 0.19% of the current issued
Ordinary Share capital.
