PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

The Company announces that on 29 September 2008 it purchased for cancellation under an existing authority granted by shareholders 16,799 C shares of 75p each in the market at a price of 81.0p, representing approximately 0.82 per cent of the Company’s issued C share capital. There remain 20,612,249 C shares in issue.
