Liam May

Investment Director

I’m an Investment Director at NVM based in Manchester and my role is to find great businesses through building relationships across the North West. I also get to work with the teams that we have already invested in as a board member, allowing me to contribute and help businesses fulfil their potential.

After graduating with a degree in History, I trained as an accountant with Ernst and Young before a stint at investment bank GCA Altium. I joined NVM’s Manchester office in 2013.

I have been involved in a number of transactions, including NVM’s investment in Mojo, The Climbing Hangar, Hello Soda, Sorted Group, Rockar, Thyson Technology, Intelling, Customs Connect, The Fresh Group, and Entertainment Magpie. A highlight for me has been my involvement in the investment and partial exit of Love Energy Savings.

I’m a keen traveller and also enjoy cycling. I’m also involved with a fantastic charity, Access Sport, which helps disadvantaged and disabled young people to achieve their full potential through the power of sport.

Really great businesses matter because they can change the world for the better, not just create wealth
