James Arrowsmith

I joined NVM more than twenty years ago. I look after the Midlands region identifying new businesses for NVM to invest in and I also work with our existing investments to grow value for our investors. I was delighted to recently lead the sale of Lineup Systems delivering a 8.1x return and I currently represent NVM on the Boards of Dale Systems, Trust Systems and Chemigraphic. 

I have a background in investment having spent ten years at 3i before joining NVM and prior to that I spent five years as part of HSBC’s corporate finance team. 

Outside of work I enjoy travelling and a range of sports including windsurfing, golf and cycling, although my two boys now beat me at everything, which is a bit disappointing. 

I love to see management teams develop as new opportunities unfold. Building great businesses through private equity is all about working closely with our portfolio businesses, helping them to identify new opportunities and ensuring that they are well resourced to capitalise on them
