The Market

Over the past decade, there has been a significant increase in people switching to plant-based diets, with 41% of UK adults actively reducing their meat intake and 22% of UK adults being either vegan/vegetarian or flexitarian. This shift to increased plant-based eating is primarily drive by consumers’ concerns about health, animal welfare and the environment.

This strong demand side pull, coupled with the leading contract caterers’ public commitments to reducing C02 emissions is leading to an acceleration of the transition to plant-based ingredients.
