Karl Cockwill

I am a Portfolio Director for NVM based in Manchester but with a national role. I have a degree in Philosophy Politics and Economics from Mansfield College, Oxford. Prior to NVM I spent 11 years at 3i in a similar role where I was responsible for 29 portfolio realisations.

I most enjoy the variety of businesses I am involved with at Board level, be it a traditional manufacturing business or a software development company, they all bring different challenges. One of the most interesting companies I sit on the Board of is nZero which since the acquisition of Orbital Gas Systems is the UK’s leading measurement and control partner across the natural gas, petrochemical, biomethane, and decarbonisation sectors.

Outside of work I am keen Southport fan and enjoy fly fishing and have a keen interest in food, wine, real ale / craft beer and Italy. I also collect cookery and fly fishing books.
